Ana Sanchez of Dancing Mood teaches this class, and the students LOVE her! Ms. Ana, well known by many of our students and parents, is a former professional ballet dancer and master with numerous
performances and awards. She was born in La Habana, Cuba, and is the daughter of two Cuban master ballet dancers.
Ms. Ana provides students an enriching experience promoting creative expression and physical and emotional development.
The course provides students with an initial introduction to the art of movement. Several class objectives are as follows:
1. Foster the ability to express and communicate through rhythm, dance, and body movement.
2. Explore the relationship between the body, space, and time, and develop it through music.
3. Improve fundamental physical abilities and learn to express ideas and emotions through the body, space, and music, acquiring a range of appropriate gestural and interpretative resources for their school age.
4. Familiarize themselves with the components of dance and its primary forms, and practice both improvisation and the execution of established dance steps, integrating relaxation and breathing exercises as well.
5. Enjoy and have fun with movement in a playful environment that encourages social relationships, enriches emotional expression, and promotes self-confidence.
